Happy Fall Beautiful People!
I know, I know…I have been completely MIA on here but do not worry! Did you honestly think I would skip out on my fashion season…pfft, never. But today, instead of writing about fashion I am writing about one of my favorite philanthropic organizations, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! (of course)
For those of you who are visiting my blog for the first time, welcome! You will quickly learn that I am very passionate about philanthropy but more importantly, I am passionate about pediatric cancer awareness and blood cancer awareness. I have worked with kids with cancer for a long time and have lost loved ones to the horrible disease, therefore, I take a lot of pride in giving back to organizations who actively strive to make a difference. With that being said, let me tell you about one of my FAVORITE philanthropic events happening in COLUMBUS, OH on October 21st known as Light the Night Walk.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society strives to cure leukemia, lymphoma Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. We are the voice for all blood cancer patients and we work to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.
…HOW FANTASTIC IS THAT? And lucky for me, I work for the Central Ohio Chapter on the Student Series Team. LLS strives to fulfill their mission in a multitude of ways including Team in Training, Pennies for Patients, Man & Woman of the Year and Light the Night Walk!
I started getting involved with LLS and Light the Night Walk when Sean was still battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Despite Sean kicking cancer’s butt (yay!), I have still stayed involved with the organization that has changed his life and so many others across the nation.
This year I am continuing my support by walking and raising funds for LLS! In the process, I hope to educate my lovely readers about this amazing organization and urge you to seek out your local chapter to get involved! Through this organization I have met some of the most inspiration children and adults. I have given back to my community and have SO much fun each time! Now, I am truly blessed to work for this organization and look forward to the opportunities it has in store for me.
I urge you all to look into organizations in your local community and give back. You can give, volunteer, or educate yourself on initiatives happening in your community. Not only is Fall the time for great fashion and everything pumpkin spice, it is also the season for GIVING. I urge you all to get out there and make a difference!
It is organizations like The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society that helps patients like Sean beat cancer! Lets join them in the fight and MAKE SOMEDAY, TODAY! #Raise4LLS
